Why you should never drink out of a straw

Most people think that drinking out of a straw is a harmless, innocuous activity. However, there are many reasons why you should never drink out of a straw.

For one, drinking out of a straw can lead to wrinkles around your mouth. When you pucker your lips around a straw, you are effectively creating tiny wrinkles in the skin around your mouth. Over time, these wrinkles can become permanent and give you a prematurely aged appearance.

In addition, drinking out of a straw can cause cavities. When you suck on a straw, you are essentially bathing your teeth in sugary liquid. This can lead to an increase in cavities and tooth decay.

Finally, drinking out of a straw can put you at risk for developing a condition known as “strawberry gingivitis.” This condition is caused by the growth of bacteria in the mouth that thrive on the sugary residue left behind by straws. These bacteria can cause inflammation and bleeding of the gums.

So, next time you reach for a straw, think twice! Your health and appearance may be at stake.
