Why Elon Musk’s Tesla Model S is the best car ever made

In 2008, the Tesla Roadster became the first highway capable all-electric car to be produced in serial production. The Roadster was followed by the Model S in 2012, which was the first mass-produced all-electric car. The Tesla Model S has been acclaimed by auto journalists and reviewers as one of the best cars ever made, with some going so far as to call it the best car ever made.

The Tesla Model S is a full-sized all-electric five-door, luxury liftback, produced by Tesla Motors, and introduced on June 22, 2012. It scored a perfect 5.0 NHTSA automobile safety rating, and is the world’s first production all-electric car to achieve a range greater than 200 miles (320 km) per charge.

The Model S has the longest range of any electric car currently on the market, and its large battery pack provides it with the greatest range of any mass-produced EV.

The Tesla Model S was the world’s best-selling plug-in electric car in 2015 and 2016, and by the end of 2018, it was the second best-selling plug-in electric car in history after the Nissan Leaf.

The U.S. News & World Report named the Tesla Model S the Best Luxury Large Car of 2017 and 2018, and the Best Overall Car of 2018. Consumer Reports ranked the Tesla Model S as the best overall car in its annual assessments for 2015, 2016, and 2017.

In 2015, Car and Driver named the Tesla Model S the Car of the Year, and Motor Trend named it the 2013 Car of the Year. Automobile Magazine named the Tesla Model S the 2013 Automobile of the Year. Time Magazine named the Tesla Model S the Best Car of the Year for 2013.
