In this day and age, it seems like we’re constantly bombarded with commercials from television, radio and streaming services. We can’t escape the barrage of ads and many of them can be annoying, irritating and downright grating. If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that there are some truly terrible, obnoxious commercials out there. Here’s a list of some of the worst types of commercials we’re all forced to watch.
1. Insurance commercials
Insurance commercials are no doubt some of the most annoying and cringe-worthy we’re forced to watch. These ads usually feature some overly positive and cheery spokespeople who are desperately trying to sell you some product. Most insurance commercials also tend to bombard viewers with a lot of technical jargon and salesy phrases that just make it all the more difficult to understand what’s being offered. Insurance commercials are also known for their loud, obnoxious jingles that seem to get stuck in your head for days.
2. Political advertisements
Political ads can be some of the most irritating to watch, especially during election season. These commercials tend to be filled with polarizing rhetoric and messages that are meant to sway viewers one way or the other. Political ads are also often accompanied by mudslinging, personal attacks, and inflammatory language that can be quite grating to listen to.
3. Personal injury lawyer ads
Personal injury lawyer commercials often feature very sleazy and sketchy characters who claim to be able to get you the most money for your injury claim. These commercials usually have a very over-the-top and sensationalized feel to them and can be quite annoying to watch.
4. Pharmaceutical commercials
Pharmaceutical ads are some of the most common commercials we’re forced to watch and they can be the most annoying of all. These ads usually feature a litany of side effects and warnings that no one really wants to listen to. They also often feature some of the worst jingles you’ll ever hear as well as some of the most annoying visuals.
5. Fast food commercials
Fast food commercials can be very grating to watch as well. These ads usually feature some of the most ridiculous and outrageous claims about their food that are simply not true. Most of these commercials also tend to feature some incredibly cheesy and over-the-top visuals and music that can be quite irksome to watch.
