The world’s ugliest dog has been revealed, and she’s downright adorable.
The title of world’s ugliest dog may not sound like much of a compliment, but to Chinese crested hairless dog Yoda it’s a badge of honor.
The 16-year-old pooch was crowned the winner of the annual World’s Ugliest Dog Contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma, California on Friday.
Yoda beat out 13 other contestants, including a bulldog mix with gas and a Pekingese that snored so loudly it sounded like a freight train.
So what makes Yoda so ugly?
Well, for starters, she’s completely hairless, except for a tuft of hair on her head and a few wispy strands on her tail.
She also has a number of growths and tumors, which give her an uneven, lumpy appearance.
But despite her less-than-perfect looks, Yoda has a heart of gold.
She was rescued from a puppy mill at the age of two and has since been a loyal and loving companion to her owner, Holly Chandler of Hanford, California.
“She’s just the sweetest dog,” Chandler said. “She’s my baby.”
While Yoda may not be a conventional beauty, she’s clearly got what it takes to win the World’s Ugliest Dog Contest.
And that’s something we can all appreciate.
