Once upon a time, there was a man named John who lived alone in a small city. He had few friends and no family, and he spent most of his days in his apartment, working on his computer and watching old movies. He lived a rather boring, uneventful life, until one day, when he decided to take a walk in the park.
It was a sunny day, and John walked around the park, taking in the sights, sounds, and smells. As he walked, he noticed a small, black and white cat walking beside him. The cat had obviously been there for some time, as it was quite thin, with matted fur and an almost desperate look in its eyes. Without thinking, John reached out and scooped the cat up.
