If you’re anything like us, you’re always on the lookout for ways to get the most out of Netflix. Whether it’s finding new shows to binge-watch or ways to make the experience more efficient, we’re all about it. And luckily, there are plenty of hacks out there to help us do just that.

From ways to make sure you’re always watching the best possible quality to ones that’ll help you find something new to watch when you’re feeling stuck, these are the best Netflix hacks you need to know.

1. Use a VPN to get around geo-restrictions

Whether you’re trying to access Netflix content that’s not available in your country or you’re trying to avoid pesky buffering, using a VPN is a great way to get around geo-restrictions.

Just connect to a server in the country where the content you want to watch is available and you’ll be good to go. We recommend using ExpressVPN as it’s one of the fastest and most reliable VPNs out there.

2. Use the ‘secret’ menu to get to the good stuff

If you’re finding it hard to find something good to watch on Netflix, make use of the site’s secret menu. To access it, all you need to do is hover over the profile icon in the top right corner of the screen and click on “Add Profile.”

From there, select ” kids & family ” from the list of options. This will take you to a hidden section of the site that’s full of great content for the whole family.

3. Optimize your settings for the best possible quality

If you want to make sure you’re always watching Netflix in the best possible quality, there are a few settings you can change.

First, go to “Your Account” and then “Playback Settings.” From there, you can select your preferred streaming quality and whether or not you want to enable HD and Ultra HD playback.

4. Use the ‘4 screen limit’ to your advantage

If you have a Netflix account, you’re probably aware that you’re only able to watch content on four devices at a time. But did you know that you can use this to your advantage?

If you’re trying to watch a show that’s only available on one device, you can log out of all your other devices and then log back in on the one you want to watch it on. This will allow you to watch the show without any interruptions.

5. Get rid of those pesky ads

If you’re sick of seeing ads for other shows when you’re trying to watch your favorite Netflix show, there’s a way to get rid of them.

All you need to do is add the following code to the end of the URL when you’re on the Netflix homepage: ?noflash=1&ad=0

6. Download shows and movies for offline viewing

If you’re going to be without an internet connection for a while, you can still watch your favorite Netflix shows and movies. The streaming service allows you to download content for offline viewing, so you can just queue up a few things before you head out.

To do this, just go to the show or movie you want to download and look for the “Download” icon. Once it’s finished downloading, you’ll find it in the “My Downloads” section of the app.

7. Use your phone as a remote

If you’ve ever lost your remote or just can’t be bothered to get up and change the channel, you can use your phone as a remote.

There are plenty of apps out there that’ll allow you to do this, but our favorite is the Netflix app. Just open it up and then select the “Remote Control” option. From there, you can control everything from playback to volume.

8. Take advantage of Netflix’s ‘skip intro’ button

If you’re the type of person who likes to skip the opening credits of a show, Netflix has you covered. The streaming service has a “skip intro” button that’ll automatically fast-forward through the credits.

To use it, just hover over the “skip intro” button that appears when the credits start rolling. Once the button disappears, the show will start playing from the beginning.

9. Use Netflix’s ‘watch now’ feature

If you’re ever feeling stuck on what to watch next, make use of Netflix’s “watch now” feature. To access it, just hover over the “more” tab and then select “watch now.”

This will take you to a page full of recommended shows and movies based on your watching history.

10. Get rid of spoilers with Flixable

If you’re the type of person who likes to avoid spoilers at all costs, Flixable is a great way to do that. It’s a search engine specifically for Netflix that lets you filter out results that’ll spoil a show or movie for you.

To use it, just go to the site and then enter the name of the show or movie you’re looking for. From there, you can select the “No Spoilers” option to filter out results that’ll give away too much.
