In September of 1998, a woman by the name of Rosemary Westwood suffered a catastrophic brain injury in a car accident. Her husband, Dean, was driving when their car collided with a tree. Rosemary was rushed to the hospital and placed in a medically induced coma. Dean was told that his wife would likely never wake up.
But 20 years later, Rosemary did wake up from her coma.
The first thing she asked was if her husband was still alive. When she was told that he had passed away, she was devastated. Rosemary had to learn how to walk and talk again. She also had to come to terms with the fact that her husband was gone.
But Rosemary did not give up. She slowly but surely regained her independence. And today, she is living proof that Miracles do happen.
