Second, the study found that people who had a lot of social support were more likely to be friends with their ex. So, if you have a great group of friends to lean on, you’re more likely to be able to be friends with your ex.

Third, the study found that people who had a strong sense of self-identity were more likely to be friends with their ex. This makes sense, because if you know who you are, you’re less likely to be defined by your relationship.

So, what does all this mean?

It means that if you want to be friends with your ex, you need to make sure you’re in a good place emotionally. You need to be able to let go of any anger or resentment, and you need to have a strong support system. Lastly, you need to have a strong sense of self.

If you can check all of those boxes, then you just might be able to be friends with your ex. But even if you can’t, that’s OK. Not everyone is meant to be friends with their ex, and that’s OK.
