The Sad Reality of Life as a Professional Comedian

No one ever said that being a comedian was easy. In fact, it’s one of the hardest professions to break into and sustain a successful career in. The sad reality is that most comedians never make it big and end up working day jobs just to make ends meet.

For those who do make it, the life of a professional comedian is often a lonely one. They are constantly on the road, away from family and friends, and sleeping in hotel rooms. The constant travel can be grueling and the pressure to be funny every night can be overwhelming.

There is also the constant fear of bombing onstage. A bad set can ruin a comedian’s whole night and leave them feeling deflated and defeated.

And then there are the haters. No matter how successful a comedian becomes, there will always be people who don’t think they’re funny. The haters can be discouraging and make it hard to keep going.

But despite all the challenges, being a comedian can be a rewarding career. It’s a unique way to make people laugh and feel good. And for those who are able to overcome the challenges, it can be a very rewarding career.
