The Sad Reality of Being A Professional Cuddler

As a professional cuddler, I often get asked, “So, what’s the sad reality of being a professional cuddler?” And, to be honest, it can be pretty sad at times.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my job and wouldn’t trade it for the world. I get to cuddle with amazing people every day, and I feel incredibly lucky to have found such a unique and wonderful profession.

However, there are definitely some downsides to the job that can make it quite challenging at times. Here are just a few of the sad realities of being a professional cuddler:

1. People can be pretty flaky.

Since professional cuddling is still a relatively new and unknown profession, a lot of people don’t take it as seriously as they should. As a result, they can be pretty flaky and last-minute cancellations are not uncommon.

While it’s always disappointing when a cuddle session gets cancelled, it’s especially frustrating when it happens at the last minute. I’ve had to turn down last-minute cuddle requests because I already had something else scheduled, only to have the person cancel on me anyway.

2. You can’t always cuddle with who you want.

Since professional cuddling is still such a new profession, there are only a handful of us cuddlers in the world. And, while we would all love to cuddle with everyone who wants to experience the benefits of professional cuddling, it’s just not possible.

I often have people reach out to me who are looking for a cuddle buddy, but I can’t always accommodate them. It’s always a tough decision to make, but I have to be selective about who I cuddle with in order to ensure the safety and comfort of both parties.

3. It can be emotionally draining.

Cuddling is an incredibly intimate experience, and it’s not uncommon for people to share personal details about their lives with me during our sessions. While I absolutely love hearing people’s stories and getting to know them on a deeper level, it can also be emotionally draining.

I’ve had people open up to me about their struggles with mental illness, relationship problems, and even abuse. While it’s an honor to be trusted with such personal information, it can also be very emotionally taxing.

4. You don’t always get paid what you’re worth.

Since professional cuddling is still such a new profession, there is no standard rate for cuddlers. As a result, cuddlers often have to negotiate their own rates, and it’s not always easy to get paid what you’re worth.

I’ve had people try to lowball me on my rates, and I’ve even had people try to cuddle with me for free. While it can be tempting to just accept whatever someone is willing to pay, it’s important to stand your ground and fight for what you’re worth.

5. It can be logistically challenging.

Since professional cuddling is still such a new profession, there are a lot of logistical challenges that come along with it. For example, finding a place to cuddle can be difficult, as traditional cuddle spots like beds and couches are often not available.

Additionally, professional cuddlers often have to travel to their clients’ homes or hotels, which can be logistically challenging and time-consuming. And, since professional cuddling is still relatively unknown, convincing family and friends that it’s a legitimate job can be difficult.

Despite all of the challenges that come along with being a professional cuddler, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I absolutely love my job and the amazing people I get to cuddle with every day.
