When it comes to dietary experimentation, there are few people who are as adventurous – or as committed – as Australian man Andrew Flinders Taylor. In 2012, Taylor set out to see what would happen if he ate nothing but pizza for 30 days straight.

The results, as chronicled on his blog “A Day in the Life of a Man Who Ate Only Pizza for 30 Days,” were surprisingly positive. Taylor not only made it through the entire month without any negative health consequences, but he actually found that his energy levels and overall sense of well-being improved.

So how did Taylor do it? Well, it turns out that pizza is actually a pretty nutritionally balanced food – at least when it’s made with quality ingredients. A typical slice of pizza contains a decent amount of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates, as well as a range of vitamins and minerals.

Of course, Taylor wasn’t eating just any old pizza – he was consuming a variety of gourmet pies from some of the best pizzerias in Australia. This ensured that he was getting a wide variety of nutrients, and also helped to keep things interesting from a culinary standpoint.

At the end of the experiment, Taylor concluded that it is possible to live healthily on a diet of nothing but pizza – but only if the pizza is of high quality and made with fresh, wholesome ingredients. So the next time you’re feeling guilty about ordering a large pie, just remember: it could be worse, you could be eating fast food pizza every day.
