The 5 stages of grief are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
The first stage of grief is denial. This is when we try to convince ourselves that the loss hasn’t really happened. We may even deny that it will happen. We do this to protect ourselves from the pain of the loss.
The second stage of grief is anger. This is when we realize that the loss has happened and we are feeling pain. We may be angry at the person who caused the loss, at God, or at the world in general. We may even be angry at the person who died.
The third stage of grief is bargaining. This is when we try to make deals with God or the universe in order to avoid the pain of the loss. We may promise to be better people if only our loved one will be returned to us.
The fourth stage of grief is depression. This is when we realize that the loss is final and that we must learn to live without the person we lost. We may feel numb and disconnected from the world. We may also have difficulty sleeping and eating.
The fifth and final stage of grief is acceptance. This is when we come to terms with the loss and learn to live with it. We may still feel pain, but it will be less intense. We may also find new meaning in our lives.
