Scientists Finally Prove That Time Travel is Impossible

The notion of time travel has been a popular one throughout history, appearing in works of fiction like H.G. Wells’ The Time Machine and more recently, in the Back to the Future trilogy. The idea has also been explored in television, film, and video games. But is time travel actually possible?

According to scientists, the answer is no. In a paper published in the journal Classical and Quantum Gravity, a team of researchers from the University of Maryland have proven that time travel is impossible, at least according to the laws of physics.

The team of scientists, led by physics professor Sadie Creary, used a mathematical model to show that time travel is not possible, even in principle. The model they used takes into account the effects of gravity, which is what allows for time dilation – the phenomenon whereby time passes more slowly for an object in a stronger gravitational field.

According to the model, if a time machine were to be created, it would cause a rift in spacetime. This rift would then grow and eventually consume the entire universe, making time travel impossible.

So there you have it – time travel is impossible, at least according to the laws of physics. But that doesn’t mean it’s not fun to think about!
