My Cat Thinks She’s a Dog
I have a cat that I rescued from a shelter a few years ago. She’s a great cat, but she has one quirk that makes her unique: she thinks she’s a dog.
It’s not that she acts like a dog in every way. She doesn’t bark or fetch or anything like that. But she does have some canine behaviors that are definitely not typical of cats.
For example, she loves to play fetch. I’ll throw a toy for her to chase, and she’ll bring it back to me and drop it at my feet, just like a dog. She also loves to go for walks on a leash. She’ll happily walk along beside me, even though she doesn’t have to.
And, like a dog, she loves to be petted and scratched. She’ll flop down on her back and expose her belly for a good rub. She’ll even give me a little “pawshake” when I come home from work.
It’s really quite adorable, and it’s just one of the many things that make her such a special cat.
