A man in the US has filed for divorce from his wife, citing her “irresponsible behaviour” for ruining the ending of Game of Thrones for him.

The man, who has not been named, reportedly filed for divorce in Florida last week, according to Miami-based law firm Sasser, Sussman & Duchan.

In his petition, the man accused his wife of “destroying” the ending of the HBO show for him by reading ahead in the books and then spoiling it for him.

He also claimed that she had “ruined” other TV shows and movies for him in the past, including The Sopranos, The Walking Dead and The Sixth Sense.

The man is reportedly seeking a divorce on the grounds of “irreconcilable differences”.

It is not known if the couple have any children.

Game of Thrones came to an end last month after eight seasons. The finale was watched by a record-breaking 19.3 million people in the US.

The show, based on the books by George RR Martin, has been widely praised for its complex plotlines and characters.

However, the finale was met with mixed reactions, with some fans claiming it was “rushed” and “disappointing”.

  1. I can understand this man’s frustration. I’ve had friends who have read ahead in the books and then spoiled things for me before. It’s not fun.
