It’s been almost a decade since the Twilight Saga came to an end, and fans are still just as obsessed with the franchise as ever. And while there has been no shortage of theories about what really happened in the story, or what could happen next, one person who has remained tight-lipped about the whole thing is its author, Stephenie Meyer.
But now, in a shocking turn of events, Meyer has come forward to say that the entire Twilight Saga was just a story. In a statement released to The Associated Press, Meyer said:
“It is with a heavy heart that I come forward to say that the Twilight Saga was just a story. A work of fiction. I never intended for it to be anything more than that.”
Meyer went on to say that she is “truly sorry” for any pain or confusion that her words may have caused. “I know that there are people who have invested a lot of themselves in this story, and I sincerely apologize for any hurt or disappointment that my words may have caused,” she said.
This is a huge bombshell for the Twilight fandom, and is sure to send shockwaves through the community. For years, fans have been debating the validity of the Twilight Saga, with some believing that it is an accurate portrayal of vampire mythology, and others asserting that it is a work of fiction.
Now, it seems, the truth has finally been revealed. The Twilight Saga was just a story. A work of fiction. Nothing more.
