Is the Internet Making Us Smarter or Dumber?

The internet has been around for almost three decades now, and in that time, it has become an integral part of many people’s lives. It’s hard to imagine life without the internet, but there was a time not so long ago when it didn’t exist. So the question is, has the internet made us smarter or dumber?

There are arguments to be made for both sides. On the one hand, the internet gives us access to more information than we could ever hope to process in a lifetime. We can look up anything we want to know, and we can find out about things that we never would have known about otherwise.

On the other hand, the internet also gives us access to a lot of useless information, and it’s easy to get lost in a rabbit hole of clickbait and fake news. We can waste hours upon hours scrolling through our social media feeds or browsing the internet without ever learning anything of value.

So which is it? Has the internet made us smarter or dumber?

The answer, of course, is that it depends. It depends on how we use the internet, and what we use it for. If we use it to access valuable information and resources, then it can definitely make us smarter. But if we use it to mindlessly consume useless information, then it can definitely make us dumber.

It’s up to us to decide how we want to use the internet. If we use it wisely, it can be a valuable tool that can help us learn and grow. But if we use it poorly, it can be a destructive force that can rot our brains.
