I Gave Up Television for a Year and Here’s What Happened


When I was younger, I used to love television. I would spend hours upon hours glued to the screen, watching my favorite shows and movies. I was never really a picky viewer; I would watch anything that caught my attention. Over time, however, I started to grow out of my television habit. I found myself becoming more and more interested in other things, and I would often go days or even weeks without watching any television at all.

Eventually, I decided to see what would happen if I went an entire year without watching any television. I wasn’t sure if I could actually do it, but I was curious to see how it would affect my life.

The first few weeks were difficult. I had to find other things to do to occupy my time. I started reading more, spending more time outside, and talking to my friends and family more. It was a challenge, but I was determined to stick it out.

As the weeks turned into months, I started to notice some changes in myself. I felt more productive and I had more free time. I also found that I was less stressed and more relaxed. I wasn’t constantly bombarded with commercials and noise, and I found that I was sleeping better at night.

Overall, I’m glad that I gave up television for a year. It was a challenge, but it was worth it. I’m not sure if I’ll ever go back to watching television regularly, but I’m glad that I was able to break the habit.
