How to make your own tomato sauce


Making your own tomato sauce is a great way to save money and have control over the ingredients. It is also very easy to do!


-6-8 ripe tomatoes
-1/2 onion
-3 cloves garlic
-1/2 teaspoon sugar
-1 tablespoon olive oil
-salt and pepper to taste


1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. Cut tomatoes in half and place them cut side up on a baking sheet.

3. Peel and chop the onion and garlic and sprinkle over the tomatoes.

4. Drizzle olive oil and sprinkle sugar, salt and pepper over the top.

5. Roast in the oven for 30-40 minutes, until the tomatoes are very soft.

6. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.

7. Place the roasted tomatoes, onion and garlic in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.

8. Pour the sauce into a jar or container and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
