In the past decade, social media has drastically changed the way we make friends, as well as how we maintain and nurture those relationships. Social media has certainly made it easier and faster to form connections with others around the world who share common interests with us. It’s allowed us to create and join digital communities, and interact with people without ever actually having to meet in person.

When we think of friendship, traditionally, we think of two people having a close bond and connection, formed through real-life interactions such as having conversations, shared experiences, or simply spending time together. With the introduction of social media, this definition has changed drastically. Now, we are able to form friendships online, almost instantaneously, through virtual interactions such as sharing posts, liking pictures, messaging, and commenting on each other’s updates.

Because of social media, we’re able to connect with people from all corners of the globe regardless of physical distance. For example, we can establish friendships with people in different countries, states, and even cities through online means. We’re able to interact and communicate with virtually anyone from the comfort of our own home. This opens up the possibility of forming relationships with people who we would have otherwise never met, or encountered in our day to day lives.

Social media has also made it easier to maintain and nurture existing friendships. With the convenience of digital communication, we’re able to stay in touch with friends who are far away or unable to meet in person. We’re able to keep up with each other’s lives and share updates about our own. This helps us to remain connected and engaged with our friends even when we’re unable to physically be together.

Most importantly, social media has enhanced our ability to form meaningful and lasting friendships. These relationships are often based on shared interests, beliefs, and values. We’re able to find people with similar backgrounds and experiences, and form genuine bonds with them. Social media has allowed us to build relationships with people who we may never meet in person, but find comfort in knowing that we can still connect with them on a deeper level.

Overall, social media has definitely changed the way we make friends. We’re able to find, connect, and interact with people from all over the world, and form meaningful relationships with them. We’re able to stay in touch with our existing friends, and also build new ones. Social media has certainly made it easier for us to form and maintain friendships, and has forever changed the way we think about friendship and relationships.
