Donald Trump is not a Christian

Donald Trump is not a Christian. This is not a controversial statement; in fact, it’s quite straightforward. But it’s a statement that needs to be made, because there are a lot of people out there who think that Donald Trump is a Christian. He is not.

Here’s the thing: Donald Trump is a businessman. He’s a reality TV star. He’s a wealthy man. But he is not a Christian.

Now, I’m not going to sit here and tell you that you can’t be a Christian and be any of those things. You can be a Christian and be a businessman, or a reality TV star, or a wealthy man. But you cannot be a Christian and be Donald Trump.

Why?

Because Donald Trump does not live a Christian life.

Now, I know that there are some people out there who will say, “But he’s never said he’s a Christian!”

That’s true. Donald Trump has never said that he’s a Christian. But he has also never said that he’s not a Christian.

And that’s the problem.

If Donald Trump were a Christian, he would live his life according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. He would love his neighbor as himself. He would care for the poor and the needy. He would strive for justice and peace.

But Donald Trump does not do any of those things.

He has said that he does not believe in global warming, despite the overwhelming scientific evidence that it is real and is caused by human activity. He has said that he would “bomb the shit” out of ISIS, even though bombing civilians is a clear violation of the Christian ethic of loving one’s neighbor. He has said that he would “immediately terminate President Obama’s two illegal executive amnesties,” even though the Bible clearly teaches that we are to welcome the stranger.

Donald Trump is not a Christian. He does not live a Christian life. He does not believe in the things that Christians believe.

And that’s why I say, unequivocally, that Donald Trump is not a Christian.
