Are you often told that you look angry, even when you’re not? Do people avoid making eye contact with you, or assume you’re always in a bad mood? If so, you may be suffering from a condition known as “Resting Bitch Face” (RBF).

RBF is a real phenomenon, and it can be a real problem for those who have it. If you have RBF, you may find that people are always mistaking your neutral expression for a negative one. This can make it hard to make friends and build relationships.

There’s no cure for RBF, but there are ways to make it less noticeable. If you’re self-conscious about your resting bitch face, try smiling more often, even when you don’t feel like it. It may take some practice, but eventually you’ll train your facial muscles to relax into a more pleasant expression.

If you have RBF, don’t let it hold you back. You can still lead a happy and successful life, even if you do have to work a little harder to put your best face forward.
