Apple is said to be planning to release a new iPhone that does not have a headphone jack. The new phone, which is expected to be called the iPhone 7, would instead use the Lightning connector for headphones. This would be a major change for the iPhone, which has used the 3.5mm headphone jack since the first model was released in 2007.

The removal of the headphone jack would allow Apple to make the iPhone 7 thinner than previous models. It is also said to be working on new wireless headphones that would work with the iPhone 7. The headphones are said to be similar to the Beats Solo3 wireless headphones, which are currently available for purchase.

  1. I think this is a terrible idea. The headphone jack is a standard feature on all phones and I don’t see any reason why Apple would get rid of it. If they do, I won’t be buying the iPhone 7.

  2. If this rumor is true, I’m not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, it would be nice to have a thinner phone. But on the other hand, it’s really convenient to be able to use any headphones you want with your iPhone. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what Apple comes up with!
